weekend planning

Well, this weekend we should get a lot done! (I hope) We are heading to Augusta after the Hawks/Celtics game to talk to florists, visit the reception site & do some measuring, look at invitations, wedding bands, rehearsal dinner sites...gosh! I hope we can get it all done :) The weather is not so nice here so pray for safety on the road!

Hope we have lots to fill you in on when we get back!

Ok, now that our website has gone "live", we're really going to try to keep the blog more up to date. Of course, this will take extra work on my part because my personal blog has also fallen pathetically behind in posts. But we're getting really excited since we're closing in on 5 months away from the big day!

Speaking of website, I designed it and Ryan had a lot of input. He wrote up the hotel descriptions on the info for out-of-town guests page ;) There's still some work to be done...the photos page in particular and we need to complete Ryan's side of the wedding party. But other than that, I think it turned out pretty well and is a good preview of what's to come in August! (Green, pink & lilies...just in case you don't catch the obvious, hehe)

Almost done

So I'm very close to getting the hotel accommodations settled. We'll be offering 2 hotels as a block-option for the wedding. One near the Church and Reception site (no more than a few blocks away) and one by I-20 (which will be a bit cheaper). Both come as fully equipped suites and are very nice.

a little more about our blog

So, I think the main purpose of this site is just to chronicle our time as an engaged couple. The months are going to fly by so fast and it will be good to have this to look back on.

Then I think the second purpose of this site is to let everyone know how the planning is going. We want everyone to share in the process even if you live hundreds of miles away. Leave us your comments, suggestions, anything! We could definitely use advice from all you married friends out there.

And I think the last purpose of this site is probably to help anyone else out there that is trying to plan a wedding all on your own. We have no idea how hard or easy it will be, but maybe we can all help each other out through the collaborative experience that is the world wide web ;)

Yes, so I am also here, contributing to this blog. We'll see how this whole process goes. So far I'm not even that 'involved' in it, and it's still rather stressful.

Right now I'm working on getting a room block for all of our guests with the mostly uncooperative Augusta hotels... how nice. If anyone has an "inside" with an Augusta hotel.......let me know. (Somehow I doubt anyone has one, haha).

So we got engaged, and the first couple weeks of planning have been crazy to say the least. So we thought it would be fun to start blogging about the various challenges and pitfalls we've come across, and see if in the end we can actually make it to the altar. Ryan came up with the title. Haha!
